EKT Interactive is proud to announce that The EIC has decided to turn our Fundamentals of Oil and Gas course into a regular offering at their Houston offices. Hosted for the first time last November, look for this course to be offered on a quarterly basis in 2012 starting in March. The first offering for 2012 will be on March 27. All of the details can be found at The EIC’s website.
This one-day fundamentals program provides participants an insight into terminology, business drivers, equipment, technologies and the future industry outlook and challenges.
The program is especially designed for the professionals planning to do business with the key players in the oil & gas industry. They will learn how to deal effectively with both E&P operators and oilfield service (OFS) companies. The E&P companies do not drill the wells; they are done by the OFS industry. Class presentations cover the key aspects of the oil & gas development cycle including: geology, exploration risk and prospect evaluation, drilling and well construction, well completions and oil & gas production facilities. We will also discuss recent “game changers” that have expanded industry opportunities, including: • Resumption of drilling in deepwater Gulf of Mexico, the source of 25% of US oil. • High pressure, high temperature onshore wells, now over 5 miles deep. • The importance of unconventional oil from Canada to US future supply. • Shale plays, horizontal drilling and the hydraulic fracturing debate. It is a fast-paced class, consisting of presentations, exercises and videos to educate and entertain staff that are new to the industry and those looking for an update and review.
