Oil Patch Orientation Is A Hit ( Again ) !
We wrote about this event as it approached, and once again it delivered. This is the most popular SPE GCS event for a reason. When you combine the energy and enthusiasm of a great group of industry new hires with the expertise and experience of some seasoned operators, amazing things happen. The presentations were informative and the discussion was lively!
Opportunities In Oil & Gas
Marty Stetzer supported other experienced SPE members in the New Hire Orientation day-long presentation on May 14 in Houston. He has been a presenter at this event since 2008 delivered the opening segment entitled “Game Changing Events Affecting Future Career Opportunities in Oil and Gas” for the 8th time. His topics include current state of the industry, supply and demand forces and price volatility, unconventional technologies and their effect on opportunities in our industry.
There have been many requests for the slides from the attendees, so we thought it would be best to just put them out to our readers. Continue getting updates from EKT Interactive on opportunities in the oil and gas industry by subscribing to our blog.
About the SPE Gulf Coast New Hire Orientation
One or two times a year, depending on demand (and usually the price of oil!) the SPE Gulf Coast Section presents its Oil Patch Orientation. The Gulf Coast Section is the largest and most active section of the SPE, and this program has become the most popular event on it’s calendar. Money raised from this event benefits the SPE GCS scholarship fund.
This seminar is the most popular SPE program. The course is designed as non-technical audio-visual guided tour through the oil patch, illustrating the basic equipment and techniques used in the discovery, development and production of petroleum.
